The funny thing is that it’s mutual, exactly the same way France thinks about England.

April 23rd is England’s national anniversary, celebrating the legend of St. George, who saved a princess from being eaten by a dragon that spat poison and terrorized the people to whom the princess belonged, demanding sacrifices from them. The princess was the last sacrifice. When he cut off the dragon’s head, a bush of the brightest red roses sprouted from its blood, and St. George gave it to the princess. Since then, the day has been celebrated by giving red roses to women, but now also to men and all cherised people.

Look. This is a comic I started about +two years ago and I almost lost my hands drawing those crappy backgrounds. I started to finish it now because I remember that the idea was very adorable and fluffy, and I wanted to try to do more complete things with background and everything, so I almost lost my hands for the second time, but now to finish it.
I also wanted it to be like one of those exercises where you see the level of your art from a few years ago and then the current level for comparison. Hahaha, it’s changed, yes it has.

What hasn’t changed is the rushed pace of the narration and the lack of greytones, I don’t think it’s understood much, but I didn’t want to do another fucking page. My hands. My back. They hurt.

I don’t know why I still invest so much in this pairing but whatever. I still love them to pieces. Finishing this comic was like finally making peace with it.

So happy super-delayed anniversary for the unibrow hedgehog, yay!
